Alberto has received multiple awards and recognitions for his publications, teaching, and academic management. You can find below a list of some of them.

** Research:

Ranked in the «Clarivate University List of Top Two Percent Scientists in the World«, published by Prof. Ionadis (Standford University) during multiple years: 2020, 2021, and 2022. Field: Business & Management.

Academy of Management «ONE Distinguished Scholar» Award, 2021. The Academy of Management is the biggest international academic organization in the field of business. This award recognizes «outstanding international leadership and academic impact in the field of organizations and natural environment». Alberto has been the first non-American scholar to get this distinction in the history of this award.

Finalist for the Emerald Best Symposium Award, 2018. This award seeks to recognize an “excellent symposium comprised of international scholars, boasting international implications, with innovative content and/or approach” in the AOM meetings. Alberto was a speaker and coordinator of this symposium.

Best Paper Award in the Group of Research on Organizations and Natural Environment (GRONEN) Conference, 2018. Alberto was co-author and presenter of the paper.

Finalist of the Academy of Management Perspective Best Paper Award, 2017. This paper has been one of the most cited papers in the field of international business and sustainability.

Elsevier Award for the Most Cited paper in Long Range Planning (2007). LRP is an Elsevier leading international journal in the field of strategic management.

Finalist for the Academy of Management Carolyn Dexter Award, 2014, 2010, and 2008. Papers are considered for this prestigious award if they “offer new insights, are rich in observation, and employ creative methodologies”. Papers receiving this honor typically reflect collaboration between scholars from different countries and an awareness of business and management outside domestic boundaries.

Multiple research awards and academic recognitions from the Regional Government of Andalucia (Spain), the Spanish Ministry of Research and Innovation, and the University of Granada.

Organizations and the Natural Environment (ONE) Outstanding Service Award, Academy of Management, 2015.

Finalist for the Best Instructor Award in the Surrey Business School (2014-2015), as voted by the students.

“Excellent Instructor” mentions at the University of Granada. He is rated by his undergraduate and postgraduate students each year as one of the best instructors (more than 9 points out of 10 each year from 2017 to 2022) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Granada.
